The hockey season is upon us, and each night the team at FTN Daily will provide an array of articles and tools to give you an informational edge for your building efforts. Tuesday brings us a three-game DFS slate starting at 7:00 p.m. ET.

If you’re playing catchup on DFS hockey, check out our Basics of DFS Fantasy Hockey, and you can check out our Hockey Draft Kit which has divisional and positional breakdowns to help with your research.

Forward Line Stacks

  • Calgary Flames vs. CHI
    • Line 1 - Elias Lindholm, Johnny Gaudreau, Matthew Tkachuk
  • Edmonton Oilers vs. DAL
    • Line 1 - Connor McDavid, Zach Hyman, Jesse Puljujarvi
    • Line 2 - Leon Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Kailer Yamamoto

Given the small slate, I'm avoiding the Flyers and Lightning tonight. Edmonton has struggled on defense, but is clearly a top offensive team this season and they’re in a good matchup against the Stars. Meanwhile the Flames face the Blackhawks, one of the worst teams in the NHL. I want to sprinkle in the Flames and Oilers as much as possible tonight.

Defensemen

  • Tyson Barrie
  • Ryan McDonagh
  • Esa Lindell
  • Duncan Keith
  • Noah Hanifin
  • Rasmus Andersson

The focus is again on the Edmonton and Calgary guys, but Lindell and McDonagh are cheap exposures from the other teams on the slate. My preference is Lindell as he’s been playing very well and Edmonton’s defense is weak.

Goalies

Best Option: Jacob Markstrom, Calgary Flames

Markstrom is almost certainly going to win. He’s got a lower upside, but the high win potential with the defense in front of him (plus the weak Chicago team) makes him the best option.

Pivot : Stuart Skinner, Edmonton Oilers

Skinner has some high upside but a weak defense in him. The Stars are far from a high-powered offense so I like the gamble here. He has win equity as well.
