Finding the best anchors for your DFS lineup is the best way to start lineup construction, so each week in this space, I’ll be taking a look at a skill-position breakdown of players who stick out on Yahoo. Whether it’s because of matchup or usage or anything else, these are players who should feature heavily in lineups.

Quarterbacks | Yahoo Week 13 picks

Is Joe Burrow a Star?

($27, vs. Los Angeles Chargers)

Despite absolutely destroying his knee a season ago, Joe Burrow has come back in 2021 with a vengeance. He's hit double-digit fantasy points in eight contests already this season, and the Chargers and Bengals sport an extremely high 50.5 over/under for this game. The Chargers are indeed a solid defense, but Burrow could make for a fun play.

Can a Cheap Carson Wentz Provide Value?

($23, at Houston)

Clearly, this is Jonathan Taylor's team. The dude has been a super-duper megastar this season, going absolutely nuts all season long. But Carson Wentz hasn't been too shabby — especially lately. He's gone for 20-plus points in four of his last six contests, and Houston has really struggled in all facets.

Joe Mixon Is a Boss

($34, vs Los Angeles Chargers)

Despite a really tough matchup last week, Joe Mixon was an absolute juggernaut and is starting to delve into must-start territory. Peep this game log — he's gone for 20-plus fantasy points in five of his last six games, and against perhaps the best run defense he led the Bengals to a monster blowout. Spend. Up. Now.

Alexander Mattison Is a Stud

($18, at Detroit Lions)

The only reason this price makes a modicum of sense is that there is a small, small glimmer of hope that Dalvin Cook is playing this week. Let's be real — he's not. And Mattison is a beast. The Vikings are a heavy favorite, which should lead to a positive game script with a heavy run dose for Mattison. Play him.

Wide receiver | Yahoo Week 13 picks

It's Keenan Allen #SZN

($25, at Cincinnati)

The Bengals have been middle-of-the-road against opposing wide receivers — they've allowed 27.1 fantasy points per game to the position. But we shouldn't ignore that on this squad, it's the Keenan Allen show. Allen has recorded double-digit targets in five consecutive games, and he's hit that mark eight times this season overall. Expect him to have another big week.

It's Brandon Aiyuk Time

($18, at Seattle)

Let's assume that for all intents and purposes, Deebo Samuel is unable to go, thanks to a groin injury. That should open up the door (finally) for Brandon Aiyuk to go HAM this evening. He's been yo-yoed a bit with his playing time, but he's very talented and could pop off.

Tight end | Yahoo Week 13 picks

Spend up for Mark Andrews

($22, at Pittsburgh)

Among a slew of tight ends that have been absolutely ugly this year, one who is clicking along at a super high rate is Mark Andrews. He's averaged nearly 10 targets per game recently (38 in his last four contests), and he's scored double-digit fantasy points in three straight.
