NASCAR lands in Bristol for this week’s Food City Dirt Race Sunday. Odds are high this race will not run Sunday — as I write this, there is a deluge of rain around the track and that is not ending any time soon — but that’s the schedule. If NASCAR postpones soon enough, the DFS platforms may push the lineup lock times back so stay aware of that.

As for the actual racing when it does start, this is a guessing game. These vehicles weren’t designed to race on dirt, there is no history of tire wear here, and now we don’t know what the condition of the track will be after Mother Nature runs her course.
